China is ready to enhance its strategic partnership with Tajikistan, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced during talks with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon. Xi expressed confidence in Tajikistan’s development under Rahmon’s leadership and emphasized China’s commitment to building a China-Tajikistan community with a shared future, opposing any external interference in Tajikistan’s affairs.
Rahmon praised the strong relationship between the two countries and reiterated Tajikistan’s support for China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, including the one-China principle. Both leaders emphasized cooperation in areas such as the Belt and Road Initiative, agriculture, critical minerals, new energy, and digital economy to further industrialize and modernize Tajikistan.
The two countries aim to strengthen ties within multilateral frameworks like the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the China-Central Asia mechanism, promoting multilateralism and the interests of developing nations.
