Chinese President Xi Jinping says China and Kyrgyzstan are entering a “golden period” of cooperation as he arrived in Bishkek for the 2026 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit and a state visit. Xi said relations between the two countries have grown stronger over the past 34 years, with trade, travel and major projects such as the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway reaching new levels. During his visit, Xi is expected to discuss deeper cooperation with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and work with other SCO members on plans for the organization’s future. Credit : CGTN
