Chinese President Xi Jinping met with IOC President Kirsty Coventry and Honorary President Thomas Bach in Guangzhou ahead of the 15th National Games.
Xi said the Olympic spirit aligns with China’s vision of a shared future for humanity and praised China’s close partnership with the IOC in promoting global sports. He said China will continue to deepen cooperation and help advance the Olympic Movement.
He noted that the co-hosting of the Games by Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao reflects the vitality of the Greater Bay Area and China’s modernization progress.
Coventry and Bach praised China’s commitment to the Olympic spirit and expressed confidence that the National Games will be a great success.
