Chinese President Xi Jinping left the Xizang Autonomous Region on Thursday after attending events marking the 60th anniversary of the region’s founding. Crowds lined the streets and gathered at the airport to see him off.
Following Xi’s instructions, a central delegation led by Wang Huning will visit Xizang from Thursday to Saturday to convey greetings to people from different ethnic groups and sectors of society. Xi’s entourage, including senior official Cai Qi, returned to Beijing with him.
