Chinese President Xi Jinping urged residents of Galai village in southwest China’s Xizang Autonomous Region to strengthen ethnic unity and build a happier life. In a letter responding to the village, which he visited in 2021, Xi expressed happiness over recent improvements in villagers’ incomes and development. He encouraged them to protect the region’s natural beauty, develop tourism, and contribute to a prosperous and stable border area. The village, known for its peach blossoms, has recently advanced in rural tourism, economic growth, and ethnic solidarity.
