Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, India, from September 12 to 13, at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The summit will focus on strengthening BRICS cooperation, promoting development among emerging economies and giving greater voice to Global South countries. BRICS has expanded to 11 member countries and 10 partner countries, representing nearly half of the world’s population and around 30 percent of the global economy.
China has promoted cooperation within BRICS in areas including trade, green energy, infrastructure, digital technology and education, while also calling for reforms to global institutions such as the IMF and World Bank to give developing countries greater representation. Credit : CGTN
