Chinese President Xi Jinping highlighted the unique and enduring comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Kazakhstan upon his arrival in Astana for a state visit. Xi emphasized the 32-year-long diplomatic relations and historical ties dating back over 2,000 years via the ancient Silk Road. He praised the fruitful Belt and Road cooperation, which has enhanced economic, trade, and cultural exchanges, benefiting both nations and contributing positively to the region and the world.
Xi’s visit includes discussions with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on bilateral relations, cooperation, and regional issues, aiming to further develop their partnership. Xi will also attend the 24th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Tokayev welcomed Xi with a grand ceremony, and the two leaders enjoyed a friendly dinner, discussing mutual concerns and strengthening their countries’ relations.
