President Xi Jinping and President Emomali Rahmon met in Beijing on Tuesday to sign a landmark treaty on permanent friendship and cooperation. Xi emphasized that China and Tajikistan remain steadfast partners regardless of the global landscape, focusing on high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and strategic alignment. The leaders committed to expanding trade and investment in emerging sectors like green energy, artificial intelligence, and smart cities while strengthening scientific innovation.
Both nations also prioritized regional security, pledging to combat terrorism, extremism, and separatism through enhanced law enforcement cooperation. Rahmon reaffirmed Tajikistan’s adherence to the one-China principle and lauded China’s role in global governance and Middle East peace efforts. The summit concluded with the signing of over 20 documents covering diverse fields such as green mining, agriculture, and education, further deepening their comprehensive strategic partnership.
