Chinese President Xi Jinping extended greetings to teachers nationwide ahead of Teachers’ Day on September 10. In a letter to eight rural teachers from the Special-Post Teachers Program, a government initiative that has placed 1.18 million graduates in over 30,000 rural schools since 2006, Xi praised their dedication and urged them to keep improving their skills while fostering young people with strong morals, intellect, health, aesthetics, and work abilities to support the socialist cause.
He encouraged teachers to remain true to their educational mission and guide children toward healthy growth. Premier Li Qiang also stressed that educators should serve where the country needs them most and help strengthen China’s education system.
