Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin met in Moscow this week, where Xi called for deepened coordination between China and Russia to safeguard global fairness and drive both nations’ development. Speaking after bilateral talks at the Kremlin, Xi described the discussions as “in-depth, cordial and fruitful,” noting new consensus reached and multiple cooperation agreements signed.
Xi emphasized the importance of China-Russia friendship rooted in shared history—particularly their alliance during World War II—and called for stronger political trust and strategic cooperation. He highlighted record-breaking bilateral trade and urged both countries to continue expanding practical cooperation.
Xi also stressed China and Russia’s roles as stabilizing forces in global governance, advocating for a UN-centered international system and a more equitable, multipolar world. He urged joint leadership in multilateral platforms like the UN, BRICS, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Calling for solidarity amid global turbulence, Xi said the nations must act as key drivers of global peace, security, and inclusive economic growth.
