Chinese Premier Li Qiang said China successfully stabilized its economy over the past year despite external shocks such as rising unilateralism and protectionism and a challenging domestic transition.
Speaking at the fourth session of the National People’s Congress, Li said the government responded with coordinated policies and stronger macroeconomic adjustments to stabilize employment, businesses, and market confidence.
He added that five rounds of China-US trade talks and a meeting between the two heads of state in Busan helped bring stability to bilateral economic cooperation. According to Li, the measures strengthened China’s economic fundamentals and boosted confidence across society.
