Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, and UN Women Executive Director Sima Bahous visited an exhibition in Beijing showcasing China’s progress in digital and intelligent empowerment for women and girls. The event was held as part of the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women.
Peng said that digital and intelligent technologies are helping women and girls pursue their dreams and expanding their opportunities in the modern era. As UNESCO’s special envoy for women’s education, she expressed hope for global cooperation to promote women’s progress in the digital age.
Bahous praised China’s achievements in reducing the digital gender gap, advancing women’s development, and protecting their rights. She called for international collaboration to further empower women and girls worldwide.
Peng and guests viewed exhibits including a smart cloud classroom, robot demonstrations by Spring Bud Project girls, and traditional cultural performances. Foreign leaders’ spouses and women’s organization representatives also attended the event.
