Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Melania Trump, wife of U.S. President Donald Trump, visited the National Museum of Asian Art in Washington, D.C., on Thursday. They toured exhibitions including the Peacock Room, with Peng thanking the United States for returning Chinese cultural relics to China in recent years and calling for continued cooperation in cultural exchanges and heritage protection.
After the visit, they watched American teenagers perform Chinese songs and spoke with them. Peng encouraged the students to continue learning about Chinese language and culture, saying they could help strengthen friendship between the Chinese and American peoples.
