Paris celebrated the 2024 Paralympics with a grand outdoor opening ceremony on the Champs-Elysees, featuring over 4,400 athletes from 168 delegations. French President Emmanuel Macron officially declared the Games open, and fighter planes colored the sky with the French flag’s colors. The Games aim to spark an “inclusion revolution,” as stated by International Paralympic Committee President Andrew Parsons. The ceremony ended with French Paralympians lighting the cauldron. With over 2 million tickets sold, the event is set to be a major success.
