Paris metro ticket prices are set to nearly double during the 2024 Olympics, according to the president of the Ile de France region. However, residents with passes will be exempt from the increase, while visitors will be charged a new “Paris 2024 pass” at 16 euros per day or up to 70 euros per week. The temporary fare hike, from July 20 to September 8, aims to cover the increased transport services during the Olympic and Paralympic events. The move comes in response to concerns about insufficient public transport capacity during the games, as indicated by the mayor of Paris.
