The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games unveiled their podium designs, inspired by the Eiffel Tower’s metal lace structure. The podiums feature a grey and white color scheme, are made from wood and 100% recycled plastic, and have a modular design for various events. The smallest podium, used for individual events, is about four meters long, while the largest, for football, spans 40 meters with 43 modules.
Weighing approximately 45 kilograms each, a total of 685 modules have been prepared, with 45 reserved as backups. Gold medalists will stand on a 35-centimeter high podium, while silver and bronze medalists will be on a 20-centimeter high podium. For the Paralympics, all top three athletes will stand on a 20-centimeter high podium with a sloped ramp for wheelchair access. Tony Estanguet, president of the organizing committee, emphasized the podium as a symbol of athletes’ achievement and celebration.
