Tensions between India and Pakistan have sharply escalated after deadly air strikes and border clashes. Pakistan vowed revenge after Indian air strikes killed 31 civilians, while India reported 12 deaths from Pakistani shelling. Pakistan claims to have downed five Indian jets, while India confirmed three crashes. Both sides continue exchanging fire along the Line of Control in Kashmir.
Pakistani leaders accused Indian Prime Minister Modi of using the conflict for political gain and promised a strong response. Global leaders, including from the UN, U.S., China, and others, are urging both nations to exercise restraint and avoid further escalation that could lead to war.
