On Tuesday, Pakistan and India each told one diplomat from the other country to leave. Both countries said the diplomats were involved in spying.
Pakistan said an Indian diplomat in Islamabad must leave within 24 hours. They told India’s top diplomat in Pakistan about this and warned Indian staff not to break diplomatic rules.
India also said a Pakistani diplomat in New Delhi must leave in 24 hours. India claimed the Pakistani official was doing things that were not part of his official job
