One Chinese national killed, one injured in Sydney stabbing incident

A stabbing incident at Westfield Shopping Center in Sydney resulted in the death of one Chinese national and injuries to another. The Chinese Consulate-General in Sydney confirmed the incident and extended sympathy to the victims’ families. The offender, Joel Cauchi, known to authorities and with mental health issues, was shot dead by a police officer. The consulate-general pledged to support the victims’ families and cooperate with both Chinese and Australian authorities for further assistance.
