Palestinian hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip are experiencing a crisis, with most of them going out of service due to ongoing Israeli attacks and a lack of fuel to operate generators. The spokesperson for the health ministry, Ashraf al-Qedra, stated that all hospitals, except Al-Ahly Hospital, are currently out of service, and even the services at Al-Ahly Hospital are limited.
The depletion of fuel in the last generator at Al-Shifa Medical Complex has resulted in the tragic deaths of at least five newborns and seven other patients. There is a warning that kidney dialysis patients might face fatal consequences within hours due to the inability to provide necessary treatment. Additionally, Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza City has also ceased operations due to fuel shortages and power outages, as reported by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS). The situation is dire, with medical teams struggling to provide care amid shortages of medical supplies, food, and water.
