Nigerian President Bola Tinubu confirmed the safe release of 24 schoolgirls abducted over a week ago in Kebbi State. The girls, kidnapped from their dormitory on November 17, were found unharmed, according to Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris, and will soon reunite with their families.
The incident had triggered similar kidnappings in other regions, including 38 churchgoers and more than 300 students in central Nigeria, most of whom have since been released. Tinubu said security forces must urgently strengthen protection in vulnerable areas to prevent further abductions.
