Apple’s latest iPhone, set to be unveiled at an event on Monday, will feature the new A18 chip, developed using SoftBank-owned Arm’s V9 chip design, according to the Financial Times. Apple plans to reveal the new iPhones and other updates at its September 9 fall event in Cupertino, California. The company extended its deal with Arm last year, securing access to its chip technology until beyond 2040. Arm’s V9 chip design now powers 50% of smartphone revenue. Apple and Arm have a long history, starting with their collaboration in 1990, leading to Arm’s dominance in mobile phone chips due to their low power consumption.
