Film-themed tourism has emerged as a new trend during China’s eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn holidays (October 1–8, 2025). With a wide variety of films screened, box office revenue surpassed 1.6 billion yuan ($225 million) by October 7. Inspired by movies like The Volunteers: Peace at Last and A Writer’s Odyssey II, many travelers visited filming locations via high-speed train. Supporting this trend, the “Travel with Films” promotional campaign played videos at train stations and on trains nationwide, blending cinema with tourism.
