The Chinese animated film Ne Zha 2 has grossed over 12.052 billion yuan (around $1.663 billion) as of February 17, surpassing The Lion King (2019) to become the second highest-grossing animated film worldwide, behind Inside Out 2. It holds a 59.4% share of China’s 2025 box office, which set a new record by surpassing 20 billion yuan ($2.76 billion) the fastest in history.
Internationally, Ne Zha 2 debuted in North America on February 14, earning $7.21 million over the weekend—the highest opening for a Chinese film in recent years. It has also led the global weekend box office for three consecutive weeks and is the first non-Hollywood film to exceed $1 billion globally.
