China and Myanmar held talks on strengthening law enforcement and security cooperation to combat cross-border crimes like online fraud and human trafficking. Chinese officials met with Myanmar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Home Affairs Minister on February 14 to discuss Myanmar’s efforts in tackling online gambling and telecom fraud. Myanmar pledged to enhance coordination with China and neighboring countries, aiming to establish a regular cooperation mechanism. China praised Myanmar’s commitment and expressed willingness to collaborate bilaterally and multilaterally to address the root causes of these crimes and protect regional security.
