Myanmar held a one-minute silence on Tuesday to honor the victims of the devastating magnitude-7.9 earthquake that struck near Mandalay, killing over 2,700 people. At exactly 12:51:02 local time, sirens rang out nationwide in remembrance. The government has declared a week-long mourning period. As of Tuesday, 2,719 people have died, with the toll expected to surpass 3,000. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing reported 4,521 injuries and 441 missing persons.
