Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup xAI is set to release its latest chatbot, Grok-1.5, on his social media platform X next week. Musk announced the news on Friday, mentioning that the upcoming Grok 2 is expected to surpass current AI capabilities in all aspects and is currently in training. Grok-1.5, an improved version of the chatbot, will be accessible to early testers and existing users on X in the coming days, according to a statement from xAI released on Thursday. This announcement follows Musk’s recent decision to open-source Grok, which came shortly after he filed a lawsuit against Microsoft-backed OpenAI, accusing them of deviating from their original mission towards a for-profit model. Musk’s xAI aims to rival OpenAI and Google’s Alphabet in the AI space, having been launched last year.
