A massive wildfire in Belgium’s High Fens nature reserve has burned around 3,000 hectares, but light rain and favorable winds have helped emergency crews contain the blaze in accessible areas and halt its spread toward the German border town of Monschau. Nearly 500 personnel, 120 vehicles, and nine aircraft from five European nations are tackling the fire, while about 600 evacuated residents remain displaced. King Philippe visited responders at the scene as local prosecutors launched an investigation into the cause of the blaze.
