The 2024 Mobile World Congress (MWC), the leading trade fair for mobile technology, opened in Barcelona, Spain. The event focuses on AI applications, advancements in 5G and 6G technologies, and enhancing connectivity under the theme “Future First.” Organized by the GSM Association (GSMA), the MWC expects around 95,000 visitors from worldwide, compared to 88,500 last year. The Director General of GSMA, Mats Granryd, emphasized the importance of uniting industries and addressing challenges. The event features 2,400 exhibitors and 1,100 speakers, with approximately 300 Chinese companies participating, including China Mobile, China Telecom, Huawei, ZTE, Lenovo, Xiaomi, and iFlytek. The MWC will conclude on Thursday.
