Meta Platforms has released the latest version of its large language model (LLM), Llama, with two new variants: Llama 4 Scout and Llama 4 Maverick. These models are multimodal, meaning they can process and integrate various data types such as text, video, images, and audio. Meta claims that these new models are its most advanced yet and the best in their class for multimodality.
Llama 4 Scout and Llama 4 Maverick will be open-source, and Meta is also previewing Llama 4 Behemoth, which is described as one of the smartest and most powerful LLMs, designed to serve as a “teacher” for the new models.
