Leaders of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) countries, including Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam, pledged to collaborate in building a community with a shared future and modernization in the region. In a virtual meeting, they emphasized enhancing mutual trust, synergizing national development strategies, and responding collectively to challenges. The leaders committed to promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development in the Mekong-Lancang sub-region, working towards a shared future for peace and prosperity. They reaffirmed commitments to people-centered development, economic recovery, and cooperation across various fields, including support for high-quality initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative. The leaders also released a five-year plan of action (2023-2027) focusing on good neighborliness, economic and social development, and innovation corridor development, aiming to create a closer community with a shared future for Mekong-Lancang countries.
