A 62-year-old German man who received 217 COVID-19 vaccines in 29 months has shown no vaccine-related side effects, according to a study published in Lancet Infectious Diseases. The man, from Magdeburg, claimed to have received the large number of vaccines for “private reasons.” Researchers from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg conducted tests on his body’s response to the multiple jabs, finding that his immune system was fully functional. Despite the unusual hypervaccination, the study indicates good tolerability of the vaccines and emphasizes that hyper-vaccination is not endorsed as a strategy to enhance adaptive immunity. The researchers reaffirm the effectiveness of the current recommended vaccination approach.
