A powerful magnitude-7.4 earthquake struck the Drake Passage at 10:16 a.m. Friday Beijing time, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center. The quake’s epicenter was located at 60.25° south latitude and 62.30° west longitude, with a depth of 10 km. Following the tremor, Chile’s Navy Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service issued a tsunami precaution for the Chilean Antarctic territory.
