Labubu to headline its own animated series and feature film

Labubu, the popular character from Chinese toy company Pop Mart, is making its screen debut with an animated series and a feature film, marking the brand’s first major expansion into television and cinema. The animated show, titled Labubu and Friends, has completed its first season script, with copyright registered in March 2025.

Created by China Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung, Labubu is a mischievous Nordic forest elf and a key member of “The Monsters,” a cast of whimsical characters. The franchise has become a global sensation, with Labubu dolls sparking viral trends and shopping frenzies worldwide.

Pop Mart has also expanded the brand through its theme park, Pop Mart City Park in Beijing, and by registering a wide range of Labubu-related trademarks across industries such as education, entertainment, and fitness.
