A fleet of six 8K UHD live broadcast vans from China Media Group (CMG) arrived at Stade de France in Paris on Tuesday to prepare with the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) for the Games. The vans traveled through Paris, passing landmarks like the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-Elysees, and the Eiffel Tower.
Some vans delivered equipment to CMG’s outdoor studio near the Eiffel Tower, while the rest were handed over to OBS at Stade de France. The fleet attracted attention from locals and overseas Chinese, who were excited to see China covering the Olympics.
The vans will broadcast 8K UHD signals of the Olympic track and field events and the closing ceremony, making Paris 2024 the first Summer Olympics with an 8K UHD public broadcast signal. CMG, the leading broadcaster with the most rights for the Paris Olympics, is set for its largest Olympic coverage yet. The Paris Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, followed by the Paralympics from August 28 to September 8.
