North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will travel to Beijing on September 3 to attend China’s Victory Day commemorations, which include a large military parade marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Asia. China’s Foreign Ministry welcomed Kim’s visit, highlighting the historic solidarity between the two nations during the war and reaffirming their “traditional friendship.” Beijing said it is committed to strengthening ties with Pyongyang through closer cooperation, while also working together to promote regional peace, stability, and international justice.
