Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has announced he will leave the club at the end of the 2024–25 season. The 33-year-old Belgian confirmed the news via Instagram, calling his time at City “the best chapter” of his career.
Since joining from Wolfsburg in 2015, De Bruyne has won 16 trophies with City, including six Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League in 2023. Widely regarded as one of the greatest Premier League midfielders, he has twice been named Premier League Player of the Season.
City confirmed his departure in a statement, promising a heartfelt farewell this summer when his contract expires. De Bruyne, who has struggled with injuries in recent years, has made 20 league appearances this season and has totaled 413 matches, 106 goals, and 174 assists for the club.
He currently ranks second in the Premier League’s all-time assists list with 118, behind Ryan Giggs. Despite City’s underwhelming season, De Bruyne could still finish on a high note, with the FA Cup semifinal against Nottingham Forest set for April 26.
