A Beijing book fair is seeing increased international copyright deals, as Chinese publishers expand efforts to bring local literature abroad.
One key agreement involves an English co-publishing edition of Journey to the West in comic form, signed between Hebei Publishing & Media Group and overseas partners. The translation is designed to preserve both language accuracy and cultural meaning.
The project follows earlier foreign editions, including a French release, and reflects broader efforts to globalize Chinese classics while also bringing international works into China.
