Japan plans to conduct the fourth round of releasing nuclear-contaminated water from the Fukushima nuclear plant into the sea starting in late February next year. The total amount to be discharged is expected to be 7,800 tonnes. This follows the formal initiation of such releases on August 24, with subsequent discharges on October 5 and November 2, each lasting around 17 days. Despite opposition from neighboring countries like China and South Korea, Japan continues with its disposal plan.
