The Israeli government approved a ceasefire agreement on Saturday to secure the release of hostages held in Gaza. Prime Minister Netanyahu’s office stated the agreement would begin Sunday, with 24 ministers voting in favor and 8 opposing.
Despite the ceasefire pact, Israeli airstrikes killed 119 Palestinians in Gaza since Wednesday. The ceasefire includes a six-week phase for hostage-prisoner exchanges. Israel will release Palestinian women and children under 19, while 33 Israeli hostages, including women and children, will be freed. The U.S. confirmed details are finalized, with the first exchanges expected Sunday.
