Israeli army chief Eyal Zamir on Sunday described the “yellow line” in Gaza as a new frontline, marking areas where Israeli troops have not withdrawn under the October 10 ceasefire. Zamir said the military maintains operational control over extensive parts of the enclave to prevent Hamas from regrouping and is preparing for potential surprise attacks.
He stated that the mission will continue until the last deceased hostage, Ran Gvili, is recovered. Since October 11, Israeli forces have killed dozens of Palestinians crossing the “yellow line,” contributing to a Gaza death toll of over 70,000 since the 2023 Israel-Hamas conflict began.
