Israel said new regulations restricting aid operations in Gaza and the West Bank have taken effect, resulting in the revocation of licenses for dozens of humanitarian organizations that failed to meet new reporting requirements. Israeli officials said the rules are aimed at preventing groups accused of links to militant activity from operating in the Palestinian territories.
UN agencies and international aid groups have strongly criticized the move, warning it could have severe humanitarian consequences, especially in Gaza where food insecurity remains acute and the need for life-saving assistance is high. Aid organizations said the restrictions risk undermining limited progress made during the ceasefire, as international groups currently provide nearly $1 billion in aid annually.
