The Israeli military recovered the body of Mohammed Sinwar, a senior Hamas military leader, from a tunnel in southern Gaza. Sinwar and another Hamas commander were killed in an Israeli raid on May 13. Since October 2023, over 54,000 Palestinians have died and healthcare in Gaza is near collapse due to ongoing Israeli airstrikes.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces stopped a charity yacht carrying humanitarian aid from reaching Gaza, enforcing a naval blockade. The Israeli government said aid can only enter through the port of Ashdod.
