Israel and Iran exchanged deadly attacks on Sunday, escalating fears of a wider regional conflict. Iran reported 224 deaths and over 1,200 injuries from Israeli airstrikes since Friday, with most victims being civilians. One of the deadliest strikes hit a 14-story apartment in Tehran, killing 60 people, including children.
In response, Iran launched multiple missile barrages into Israel, including its first daylight strike and a second wave at night that hit cities like Tel Aviv and Haifa, killing at least 10 and injuring others. Israel stated its attacks aimed to destroy Iran’s nuclear and missile capabilities, while both sides warned civilians to evacuate targeted areas. Iran has told mediators it won’t consider a ceasefire with the U.S. while under Israeli attack.
