The Israeli military said Thursday it struck the Taleghan facility in Tehran, calling it a site linked to Iran’s nuclear program.
Israel said the strike targeted recent activities at the compound, including development of advanced explosives and experiments tied to the AMAD project, which it describes as a covert nuclear weapons program. The International Atomic Energy Agency reports AMAD ran from 1989 to 2003, though Israel claims some work continued.
Iran has denied pursuing nuclear weapons, maintaining its program is for peaceful purposes. No immediate comment came from Tehran on the damage. Israel also released satellite images of the strike.
The operation follows a March 3 strike on the Minzadehei compound, near Tehran, said to involve key nuclear components. The attack comes as the US-Israel-Iran conflict enters its 13th day.
