Israel announced that Palestinians can return to northern Gaza starting Monday, following a new deal with Hamas for the release of three Israeli hostages on Thursday. This decision comes after a delay in a previous hostage release, including Arbel Yehud, now scheduled for Thursday along with two others. The return is part of a ceasefire agreement, under which 26 hostages are set to be freed over six weeks.
Hamas called the return of displaced Gazans a victory against alleged plans for forced displacement, with thousands already returning. The Israeli military outlined designated routes for safe passage but warned against approaching military positions. Seven hostages have already been released under the agreement, with more exchanges planned.
