Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that Israel would face a “regret-inducing” response if it continues its attacks on Lebanon, hours after a fragile two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran was announced. The warning followed Israel’s heaviest strikes yet on Lebanon, which killed more than 250 people and injured over 1,100.
Iranian officials accused both Washington and Israel of violating the ceasefire terms, particularly over ongoing military actions and disagreements surrounding Iran’s nuclear program. Meanwhile, US officials, including Vice President JD Vance, insisted Lebanon was not covered by the agreement and warned Tehran against escalating the situation. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said strikes would continue.
Despite both sides claiming progress, major divisions remain, especially over uranium enrichment. The conflict has also heightened regional tensions, with attacks on energy infrastructure and continued uncertainty over shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, raising concerns about global oil supply disruptions.
