Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, along with seven others, tragically died in a helicopter crash in East Azerbaijan Province. The Bell 212 helicopter, part of a convoy, lost communication with the other two helicopters 30 minutes after takeoff and crashed due to severe weather conditions, including thick fog and a blizzard. The charred wreckage was found early Monday following an overnight search. The president and his team were traveling from an inauguration ceremony in Khoda Afarin County to Tabriz for another event. The crash has drawn significant international attention and concern, with countries like Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia offering assistance. Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, have expressed their prayers and assured the public of no disruption to the country’s affairs.
