Iran targets US base in Jordan, Houthis strike Saudi Arabia

Iran said it launched ballistic missiles at a US air base in Jordan on Tuesday, while Yemen’s Houthi movement fired missiles toward Saudi Arabia, marking a broader regional escalation. Jordan said it intercepted four missiles that entered its airspace, and Saudi Arabia reported shooting down Houthi missiles targeting its southern region.

The attacks came after the United States carried out a third straight night of strikes on Iran and announced a renewed naval blockade targeting Iranian shipping. President Donald Trump also proposed a 20% fee for ships using the Strait of Hormuz, a move Iran rejected and the UN shipping agency said has no legal basis.

Meanwhile, the UAE said Iranian missiles struck two Emirati oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, while oil prices climbed as concerns grew over disruptions to global energy supplies. The widening conflict has raised fears of greater instability across the Middle East.
