Iran says it will not begin negotiations on a final agreement with the United States until key conditions in their recently signed peace memorandum are implemented. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said Tehran wants progress on five issues first: ending the conflict in Lebanon, lifting the US naval blockade, reopening the Strait of Hormuz, allowing Iranian oil exports through US waivers, and releasing frozen Iranian assets. He added that Iran and the US have already appointed representatives to a joint committee overseeing the Lebanon ceasefire. Meanwhile, Qatar held talks with US officials Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner on regional developments and the Lebanon ceasefire. Iran and the US signed the peace memorandum on June 18, with technical negotiations beginning in Switzerland days later.
